INFORMATION ON NEW GUIDANCE -

The ID&R Office has added two new training webinars to complete the three-part series that review the new 2017-17 COE completion process. Parts one and two cover:

  • Part 2 - Instructions for completing Sections I - Family Data, II - Child Data, IV - Comments, V - Interviewee, and VI - Eligibility Data Certification
  • Part 3 - Instructions for completing Section III - Qualifying Moves and Work

The 2017-18 COE has been shipped to all districts and are to be used immediately. The 2016-17 COE may not be used after July 1, 2017.

Review of the Changes to the Non-Regulatory Guidance - Presented April 2017 (PowerPoint presentation in Adobe Connect) - Part 1 of a 3-Part Training Series
This webinar discusses key changes to the Non-Regulatory Guidance for the Migrant Education Program under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). These changes will take place effective July 1, 2017. Some of the key topics discussed in this presentation include:

  • Elimination of "intent" and "in order to obtain" from the guidance
  • Revised definitions for "migratory child", "migrant agricultural worker", "migratory fisher" and "qualifying move"
  • Guidance for "actively sought", "soon after" and "history of recent moves"
